During this experience I...
- Distributed probably an ENTIRE (Sam's sized) bottle of Ibuprofen/Tylenol for headaches, injuries, fevers, etc.
- Nursed only 4 jellyfish stings with the traditional Vinegar and good ol' meat tenderizer.
- Sent 3 people to the Emergency Room (All of whom were okay...praise the Lord).
- Lathered more Aloe Vera onto kids and counselors than I've ever seen in my life.
- Wrapped a dozen knees, ankles, and wrists with Ace bandages.
- Distributed student's daily medications (Which usually involved multiple "corrals" of the kids...especially the ones with ADD who would forget to take their meds...awesome).
- Quarantined an entire boys room who had a "stomach bug". (Wasn't going to even chance that one!)
- Cleaned and bandaged a few cuts and scrapes.
- Provided TLC to the students and counselors who just needed something to 'feel better'....after all, I am an Oncology nurse....I can do that. = )
- Developed a TON of new friendships!
- Solidified existing friendships.
- Saw a multitude of lives being saved!
- Experienced the power of the Lord lifting our burdens, guilt, and shame from our hearts.
- Dug deeper into The Word than I ever have before.
- Was humbled by God's grace, mercy, and love on myself and every individual at that camp.
Needless to say, it was an incredible experience! Although exhaustion is a major understatement, I would do it again in a heartbeat! I hope they ask me back next year!!
